It’s the turn of the Quai Claude Bernard to be taken over by construction machinery.
With the aim of building Lyon’s first track line, which will connect Vaulx-en-Velin and Saint-Fons, the first works of which started in the fall of 2021, a construction site is starting just in front of the Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University on the quays of the Rhone.
Reduced car traffic
The 20.5 km route, starting from the Mas du Taureau to serve the Doua campus, Gerland and the Vallée de la Chimie, therefore passes through the quays of the Rhône.
This developed section of the first line of Lyon’s tracks will be completed in June 2022. Car traffic will be reduced by four distinct phases of work.
The first, which will begin on Tuesday February 22, will reduce traffic between the Rhône swimming pool and the University bridge to one lane until May 4.
From this Tuesday, February 22 and until March 8, traffic will also be restricted to one lane at rue Jaboulay. The one between rue Jaboulay and Pont Galliéni will be reduced to 2 traffic lanes until March 30.
Until May 12, traffic between rue du Docteur-Grignard and Pont Galliéni will be reduced to two lanes. From May 5 to June 24, the section between the University Bridge and Jaboulay Street will be restricted to a single lane.
