In the center San Filippo celebrates Brescia, Siena defeated 3-1
It ends 3-1 in the center of San Filippo and for Brescia it is an important victory with a view to salvation but obviously throwing an eye also to the playoffs. Siena does not win any points in Lombardy and will now have to immediately seek redemption in the internal match on Wednesday against Reggio Emilia.
First set Siena begins the match with Pinelli and Onwuelo on the setter-opposite diagonal, Ottaviani and Panciocco in the band, Rossi and Mattei in the middle, Sorgente free. Immediately 3-0 for the Lombards with a winning wall of the premises and an ace from Patriarca. Muro point also for Emma Villas Aubay who then has a nice point from Panciocco who sends the ball to the intersection of the lines. Galliani is already “on fire” and makes two points of excellent workmanship (5-2). Onwuelo replies, who first crushes and then blocks the attack of the Brescians (6-5). The Sienese ball change jams, Brescia takes advantage of it and scores another break point with Cisolla (9-6). With a good defense and with Onwuelo punishing the host defense, Siena gets closer (10-9). But Brescia stretches again, with Cisolla who is good at passing the ball in the middle of the Brescia wall (12-9). The hosts are also lucky, when a touch from Bisi ends up on the ribbon with the ball slowly falling on the taraflex in the Siena half (16-12). Still Bisi (7 points in the first set for him) achieves the +5 point for his, replies Onwuelo. Also in the center the Lombards pass, by Esposito the point of 21-15. The guests reconnect with Panciocco’s ace: 22-18. With Mattei’s mistake, the first set ends at 25-20.
Second set Brescia break: 8-4. Cisolla’s joke gives the locals an ace. Onwuelo scores, but another Esposito block is worth the 9-5. Patriarch scores several times on excellent suggestions from Tiberti: Brescia still ahead (12-9). The Sienese reception is imperfect, the hosts take advantage of it by putting a sign on two consecutive winning walls (14-9). Siena gets closer and touches -3 with the quick put down by Andrea Mattei (16-13). Franzoni flies to save a ball that seemed destined to fall on the taraflex, Cisolla crushes a heavy ball for him. On the Tiberti-Bisi axis comes another point for the hosts. Well Panciocco (23-19). The set is closed by another winning service from Cisolla: 25-19.
Third set Immediate break point for Brescia, with Cisolla blocking Onwuelo (3-1). The locals fly to 5-1, there is another wall from Cisolla. Siena comes back with a 2-5 run closed by a nice block. Panciocco’s ace gives parity (7-7). Still ace of Panciocco (7-8). Mattei walls Galliani for 7-9. Good moment for Siena: Onwuelo finalizes a free-kick (7-10). Another break point for Siena, Mattei puts down the 7-11 ball. Onwuelo asserts himself against the wall by blocking Galliani (9-13). The Sienese in this set have found continuity against the wall, a block by Rossi confirms the +4 guest (12-16). Panciocco crosses the eighteenth point of Siena well (14-18). From Onwuelo and Rossi there are other points for the guests, when Patriarca makes another ace Brescia stitches up to -2 (18-20). Esposito walls Onwuelo for 19-20. Onwuelo makes a mistake, then Esposito also blocks Parodi. And so Brescia finds himself in front in a few moments (21-20). Panciocco equalized, shortly after Galliani’s mistake allowed the guests to take a small point of advantage (22-23). Mazzone misses the joke (23-24). Siena wins the set with the point of Panciocco (23-25). In this set 7 points for Rocco Panciocco.
Fourth set Parodi with cunning achieves two important points (6-8). Brescia hits two sides, then Parodi again for 9-10. Pushed by Bisi and Esposito the home team sprinted up to 16-13. Galliani is perfect for the local 18-16. Three points from Panciocco and Siena there (20-19). Cisolla is wrong and it is a tie (20-20). It comes on 22-22 with Samuel Onwuelo’s winning dunk. When Rossi walls Esposito it is 22-23 for Siena. Bisi draws. Ace from Cisolla for 24-23. Galliani closes it on 25-23.
