New halls in Tuřany are still stopping: the airport will rework the proposal
There will be no two new halls for air transhipment at Tuřany Airport in Brno. At least for now. Brno Airport has asked the South Moravian Regional Authority to stop the investigation procedure so that it can revise the plan. “The regional authority has completed the process of environmental impact assessment,” confirmed Jiří Hájek, head of the department.

The submitted plan aroused a wave of resentment, especially in the Tuřany and Slatiny districts, where people feared an increase in the already significant traffic load, especially in the Řípská, Tuřanky and surrounding areas.
Slatin’s councilors also sent a major dissenting opinion to the regional office. “The fact that the airport withdrew this plan clearly shows that our work is justified,” Mayor Jiří Ides told Deník Rovnost.
New halls at Brno Airport: there are fears of increased traffic
Representatives of the airport want to build the infrastructure to serve consignments already transported to or from the Tuřany complex. “From the point of view of assessing the parameters of traffic load, it is important that the related ground and transport for the transport of consignments is already significantly valid,” said the airport representatives.
The councilors of Brno also dealt with the plan in January. Deputy Mayor Petr Hladík, for example, lacked data on the further development of the airport and on the phasing of dangerous constructions, especially with regard to traffic.
