Near Lyon, the mayor of Grigny attacked by a man armed with a knife
Yet another assault on a chosen one. This Thursday, February 17, the mayor of Grigny, south of Lyon, claims to have been the victim of an attack. Also present, two municipal agents and another elected official were targeted. In Facebook postthe city councilor gives more details: “I was beginning to dialogue with this individual when suddenly, for no apparent reason, he hit me hard in the face. This individual, who was carrying a knife, then insulted us and threatened to kill us.” The man, already known for damage and for having attacked municipal agents, was arrested by the municipal police.
Already victim of tags at home, insults and death threats, Xavier Odo now assists “that Justice is doing its job to protect municipal agents, citizens and elected officials, victims of the excesses of a small number of individuals, often preferentially known to the police services”. He also challenged Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin on Twitter.
Xavier Odo received the support of many local elected officials in the region, including that of the mayor of Lyon, Gregory Doucet.
