With the implementation of the BMW investment, China will be the second country after Hungary, all three German premium car factories have production units – emphasized Péter Szijjártó. As well as the fact that facilitating the transition of the automotive industry to electromobility is a strategic issue for Hungary. He reported that the Hungarian-German foreign trade turnover set a record last year, approaching 60 billion euros with an 11 percent increase compared to 2020.
In addition to last year’s 7.1 per cent economic growth, the minister also said that growth is expected to continue despite the economic difficulties of the pandemic, as many investments are in the construction, implementation and commissioning phases. Incidentally, 2021 set a record for investment decisions, with a decision made on approximately HUF 1,886 billion in development. And last year also saw a record export performance of 119 billion euros.
