Will Iris Bouwers (28) from Zuidwolde become an alderman in De Wolden? Now she is still a representative of LTO Netherlands in Brussels
The 28-year-old Iris Bouwers from Zuidwolde has put herself forward for the CDA as an alderman in the municipality of De Wolden.

LTO representative in Brussels
She and her parents have been running a mixed farm in Zuidwolde for years, where she was founded. In addition, she serves as a representative of LTO Netherlands in Brussels. According to her party, she has gained experience in governance and politics in recent years.
‘My future and my heart are in De Wolden, since I don’t go to our company anyway,’ Bouwers reports. ‘The CDA election program really appeals to me, especially in the area of my generation, such as housing and sustainability.’
Councilor in Dronten
Bouwers has been a member of the CDA for ten years now. She took the first steps in local politics in the municipality of Dronten, where she was active as a councilor during her studio between 2014 and 2018. She also did an internship with the CDA faction in the House of Representatives.
‘Bridge builder’
Party leader Karin Brouwer says that her party is convinced that Bouwers can use her experience in the role of alderman. ‘We really appreciate that Iris wants to exchange the world for De Wolden. We also see her as an important bridge builder for future generations.’
