Prague councilors approved the press, on the basis of which the capital. m Prague will distribute almost 18 million crowns among 13 houses for children and youth (DDM).
This amount will be drawn from Chapter 04 – Education, Youth and Sport and will be provided for their leisure activities.
“Prague supports our houses and their hobby education activities every year. They can thus compete with other leisure facilities and provide a wide range of arts, sports and technology. Due to last year’s situation associated with the coronavirus pandemic, which significantly reduced or completely banned their activities, this year’s contribution will be used, for example, for departure and suburban camps, sports competitions, events and the operation of leisure clubs and children’s parliaments, “said Prague councilor for education. and sports Vít Šimral.
At the beginning of 2021, DDM implemented its traditional activities in accordance with its educational programs. Following the reduction of activities, it participates in the production of protective equipment (production of plastic shields) and their distribution to designated facilities.
Of the DDM activities, events for the public were the most limited, which could only be done online in some cases (eg the Prague Film Suitcase) or in small numbers in accordance with government measures (eg St. Nicholas Day, where groups of children took turns). Some competitions were also recorded. DDM also participates in tutoring children who, due to the long distance learning, do not sufficiently master the curriculum (Club of Anonymous Schoolchildren).
Leisure clubs and children’s parliaments have seen significant restrictions. In the course of 2021, the already mentioned distance form was used in regular activities in an online manner, which gradually improved. As a result of this situation, the financial support in 2021 was drawn mainly for the required hobby activities of DDM, including the provision of protective aids for DDM.
This year, the funds will be distributed between departure and suburban camps, camps for children with different mother tongues, leisure clubs, competitions, children’s parliaments, social events, leisure time, the Sports after School education project and the further education of pedagogical staff. As was finally the case in the year, the drawdown this year will depend on the current situation in connection with the government’s measures against the spread of covid-19.
