Exhibition in Lyon: Shards of life by Pauline Souchaud at the NörKa gallery
The NörKa gallery makes us discover Under Mom’s Skin by Pauline Souchaud, a luminous exhibition that plunges us into the heart of the bowels of life in all its forms!
Painter and visual artist residing at the Lamartine artistic wasteland in Lyon, Pauline Souchaud is a graduate of the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Angers and the National Arts Center in Mexico City, where she deepens her passion for colors, which is the basis of originality. from his work.
First seized by a splash of colors, gradually over-penetrated, fascinated, in his universes made of interior landscapes on the borders of the infinitely small and exterior landscapes, some of which are immensely large.
Captivated by scientific imagery, the artist conducts research around the organic, the mineral, the cellular and the microscopic to bring out invisible worlds at the origin of life, natural or scientific phenomena and which also explore inside the human body, the underside of the skin.
A living fire of colors
She paints on two supports: the canvas which she lays flat on the ground – the paint being guided with water with syringes – which allows her to work on the different sofas and to be in the natural flow.
She escapes from 2D with works on glass to dig transparency, play on the depth, the front and the back but also the superimposition and the movement of the works between them.
What is striking in this exploration of the invisible is the persistence of the movement whatever the chosen theme, the vital momentum that remains victorious in this flirtation between life and death that it constantly brings to light, like for example in Metamorphosis, flamboyant canvas of red, yellow and purple, revealing blood vessels fervently seizing a body or matter in the making or 191 beats per minute, a diptych with a beating heart and another that explodes in a living fire of colors.
We also like the superb canvas And I would become lightning whose almost transparent movements spring with its green, yellow and white or even sunken planet, a glass map of the planet engulfed by waters and which reveals pieces of islands. A work to discover that subtly touches our unconscious and our imagination!
