By the end of March, Bulgaria will have an ambulance for difficult terrain
By the end of March, Bulgaria is expected to have an ambulance that can reach hard-to-reach places. Volunteers organized a donation campaign to raise the necessary funds.
The idea for the equipment of the medical vehicle for difficult terrains came from the volunteers from “Emergency Rescue Plovdiv” and the club “Offroad Plovdiv”. It is all about reacting quickly and adequately to accidents in hard-to-reach places in the mountains.
“In recent years, many people have started walking in the mountains – there are various bike races, off-road races. If there is an accident there, there is no other way to reach the victim than to walk. If there is an off-road vehicle with a very good, trained driver and a medical team inside, they can be extremely useful. “Even if the machine can’t reach the victim’s treatment, I can take a medical team or two paramedics one kilometer away, which saves hours of walking,” said Georgi Vlaykov, chairman of the Plovdiv Emergency Rescue Association. in front of the BNR.
To implement the idea, the volunteers organize a donation campaign. The funds raised have already been used to buy a suitable car and the necessary medical equipment for it.
For the first rescue off-road ambulance, between BGN 7-8,000 is needed.
