Russia is not going to attack Ukraine, it is not in the interests of Moscow. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov on the air of the YouTube channel “Soloviev Live”.
“Russia is not going to attack anyone, it is unprofitable, it does not meet our interests. Building some illusory projects of Russian aggression is nonsense,” the ambassador explained.
In his opinion, the attempt to combine “tame” power and its choice to follow its strengthening after the collapse of the USSR did not work out. He also noted that Washington solves all the problems of international security in Ukraine.
“You know, in America they analyze all the current problems in Ukraine. I think that this is absolutely wrong, it is an attempt to obscure the true state of affairs. In our documents, which we handed over to the Americans and NATO, we raised a clear question not about Ukraine, or even just about European security. We raised a clear question about the prospects for international security,” the diplomat stressed.
Former press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov declaredthat the deployment of US troops to Europe is proof that Russia has reason to be concerned as Washington continues to stir up tensions in Europe.
In recent months, reports began to appear in the West and Ukraine in particular about the impending “invasion” of Russia in Ukraine. In turn, the Kremlin has more than once directly denied any plans for an attack.
