Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Chairman of the African Union Commission Musa Faki Mahamat discussed on Friday in Addis Ababa the tasks of expanding multifaceted Russian-African cooperation and the practical aspects of preparing the second summit Russia is a problem related to 2022 year .
“The Russian side confirmed the pattern of further progressive strengthening of ties in the economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian fields both with the state and with its inclusion in integrative associations, including coordination in connection with the emergence of peace and security on the continent. Attention was paid to practical aspects preparations for the second Russia-Africa summit in 2022,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
As appointed in the Russian diplomatic department, the 35th meeting of the heads of state and government of the African Union took place on the sidelines. Diplomats have resolved the entire range of issues of “Russian-African multifaceted cooperation” with an emphasis “on the task of building it up” in accordance with the provisions of the memorandum between the concept of Russia and the African Union on the basics of foundation and compilation, concluded in 2019 in Sochi at the first Russia-Africa summit.
