The WHO announced the imminent completion of the registration of “Sputnik V” Russian news EN
The representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia, Melita Vujnovic, said that the process of Russian registration of the vaccine against the Sputnik V disease could take place in the near future. She spoke about this on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24”.
Vujnovic noted that the mood is “very optimistic” and the registration process is going “very well” and may end soon.
“I am a very good optimist. Of course, I won’t speculate, but as of December, even as of November, the process is going very well, I really expect the process to be completed, but I can’t say anything about the final decision, the commission will say,” she said.
According to Vujnovic, WHO received the necessary documents for the registration of Sputnik V on December 30, 2021.
At the same time, the noted representative of the world organization, the country prohibits the entry of those vaccinated with Sputnik V, despite the approval of the Russian vaccine by WHO. “Many countries (…) do not even recognize registered vaccines. We expect that the registration of a vaccine does not mean that it must be registered as a passport,” she explained.
However, there may be a shortage of a vaccine in the world.
Earlier it became known that the effectiveness of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine is 91 percent against the Wuhan density strain and 70.5 percent against the delta variant. With this drug, 88 percent accounted for moderate cases, during a six-month follow-up period.
