Gladiators on their two-wheeled iron park: SuperEnduro GP will be held in Budapest with Hungarian chances
On February 5, the SuperEnduro GP, which offers spectacular enduro motorcycle races and an equally exciting sports experience, will visit Hungary again, the Papp László Budapest Sports Arena. The first two such events were married in the capital, and like the previous competitions, there are Hungarian chances again.

The most renowned representatives of the Hungarian enduro motorcycle industry will also be featured in the Papp László Budapest Sports Arena: visitors will be able to support, for example, Norbert Zsigovits, who will start among the pros in the junior category in the colors of Enduro Team Hungary. Zsigovits has previously won SuperEnduro European Cup and Enduro GP World Cup races. Not only will he be the only Hungarian competitor in Hungary: Márk Szőke, who is also an Enduro Team Hungary competitor, will be aiming for the podium in the European Cup, and we can also squeeze in for the current Hungarian enduro champion Roland Liszka and Dániel Tádics.
Those who are interested in foreign stars will certainly not be disappointed either: in the Prestige category we will find the names of Cody Webb, Colton Haaker or the well-sounding Jonny Walker, and in addition to them, aces like last year’s world champion Billy Bolt, six-time winner Taddy Blazusiak or Manuel Lettenbichler, who may have previously celebrated a junior world title.
A significant track in the Sports Arena praises the work of Kornél Németh, the most successful Hungarian competitor in the field. The track will require 60 trucks of land, two to three trucks of stone and wood, not to mention a day and a half of intensive construction work. The prestigious field and the actions of the organizers were also appreciated by the audience for the first two times,
the first two competitions were held with exactly a full house, with a spectator of around ten thousand people.
Significant steps in domestic enduro sports
The Hungarian competitors competing in their categories will compete in the colors of last year’s drum Enduro Team Hungary. The first season of the season was for the team at the classic enduro races, the Enduro GP, as a Hungarian rider has not been included in the World Cup program in such an environment before.
The classic enduro racing is actually a rally race on two wheels: the riders complete stages and special stages, the stages being the connecting stages between the specials. They are on the order of 50-60 km long, but can be up to 2.5 hours a week each. Thus, the daily racing distance does not exceed 7.5 hours. In the World Cup, the connecting stages must also be completed during the stage, all as quickly as possible.
During his first Enduro GP season, Norbert Zsigovits won World Cup races in the Open 4S category and finished second in the composite points race with his KTM EXC engine.
This was the best result realistically available as the team did not participate in the first round of the season. His teammate, Márk Szőke, was most successful in recovering from a serious sports injury in a few weeks with the help of Motorsport Talent Management, Fit4Race and Pain Ambulance, and took two second places in the Open 2S category in Portugal in the saddle of a Sherco SE 300 Racing.
The team will also start in the FIM SuperEnduro series from December 2021. The first round was held in Łódź, Poland, in an enclosed space similar to the Budapest Sports Arena. Such races are shorter, the audience more spectacular, and even more intense for the riders, as they face severe ordeal during qualifiers and finals, but may make fewer mistakes.
From December, Norbert Zsigovits was one of the pros in the junior world championship field, while Márk Szőke competes in the European Cup. Perhaps it is the encouragement of the home village that will give the big boost in the fight for podium places.
