End of the course for AS Monaco in Gambardella
At the end of a hotly contested game, the Monegasque U18s were eliminated from the Gambardella Cup by Olympique Lyonnais, this Sunday at the Stade Louis-II (1-1, 4 pens to 2).
They gave everything until the end, unfortunately in vain. This Sunday, in front of an audience won over to their cause at the Stade Louis-II, the AS Monaco U18s were unable to win their ticket to the round of 16 of the Coupe Gambardella and lost narrowly against Olympique Lyonnais (1-1, 4 pens to 2).

The young Rhone residents opened the score just before the break, through Yannis Lagha (40and). Back from the locker room, Frédéric Barilaro’s team pushed to come back and multiplied the chances, before finally finding the fault through Mamadou Coulibaly, with a shot at the far post after a serve from Bechir Yacoub (80and).
Place in the championship
Unfortunately, the Monegasques ended up giving in during the penalty shootout and therefore saw their dream of a fifth victory for their Club in the Coupe Gambardella fly away. So now place in the championship, competition in which they are leaders of group D U19. Congratulations on your journey young people!
