Owners of dogs in the capital will be able to register, unsubscribe or pay the fee via the Internet on the Prague City Portal. They will no longer have to go to the building of the town hall. The municipality has now launched a pilot project in Prague 3 and will expand to other city districts in the coming months. The mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates) and the mayor of Prague 3 Jiří Ptáček (TOP 09) told the press on Wednesday.
“It’s important because there are 90,000 dogs in the metropolis. That’s a lot, and a lot of administration, which lies largely in the city district. However, the citizen doesn’t really care, he wants to be able to solve all matters in one place. with the city, “said Mushroom.
The project is now being launched as a pilot in Prague 3 and other city districts will gradually join. In the near future it will be Prague 11, Nebušice, Vinoř and Zbraslav and then the city district of Prague 8, 14 and 17. “Then the system will of course be open to other city districts. However, it also depends on the willingness to get involved,” said Hřib. All the mentioned town halls will join during this year.
According to Mayor Ptáček, the newly launched system is beneficial for citizens and the town hall. “Not only with regard to today, it is a matter (administration of fees) that burdens the office. We handle tens of thousands of parking cards every year. As far as dog fees are concerned, there are about 6,000 dogs. The more access is easier, the more advantageous it is. also for us as a part of the city, “said Ptáček.
The municipality will also expand the portal with other services, when, among other things, comments on the metropolitan plan will be launched in March. The city will also develop the settlement of parking and parking cards, which already works. According to Hřiba, the portal is visited and the inhabitants of the metropolis are interested in it. For example, last September in one day, the office recorded 12,000 users. “Traffic is gradually rising,” he said.
The city launched the Portal in September 2020, using the source code of the state Citizen’s Portal during its development. With the help of the Pražana Portal, people can solve, for example, rent extension in a municipal apartment, payment for municipal waste, request for mayor’s patronage, notification of a meeting, request for information under the Freedom of Information Act or online booking of visits to vehicle and driver registers. .
