Canton of Beaumont: the victory of Jean-Luc Deprince and Anne Ius made effective by the administrative court of Toulouse
Elected with 16 votes in advance, on June 28, 2021, in the second round of the departmental elections, Jean-Luc Deprince and Anne Ius had seen their victory challenged in court by the Tonin-Cornille (National Rally) and Salomon / Dupont (Union to the left). After the Council of State, the administrative court of Toulouse today rejected all appeals. The PRG mayor of Beaumont and the Bourretoise, who presented himself for the first time in a ballot, are therefore confirmed in their mandate as departmental advisers.
The serial of the departmental election of the canton of Beaumont undoubtedly ended this Wednesday, January 26, with the decision rendered by the administrative court of Toulouse. The administrative judge rejected the appeals filed by two pairs, Michel Cornille and Jacqueline Tonin (supported by the RN) as well as Dominique Salomon and Jean-Louis Dupont (Union on the left), to contest the victory of Jean-Luc Deprince ( PRG), mayor of Beaumont and outgoing departmental councilor and Anne Ius (various left), the wife of the mayor of Bourret. It is true that this election was played in a pocket handkerchief, with 16 votes, in the second round.
During the hearing on January 6, the public rapporteur (1) recommended rejecting the two appeals. The Toulouse TA judge followed him. “I am very satisfied with this decision, reacts Jean-Luc Deprince. The Council of State had already validated my campaign accounts and dismissed my opponents of their requests. The public rapporteur had also recommended rejecting these appeals. therefore of the third decision favorable to Anne Ius and to myself.” The mayor of Beaumont knows that the pairs beaten at the ballot box still have the possibility of seizing the administrative court of appeal of Bordeaux, but he concentrates on his task of departmental councilor. “What matters to me is to continue to work in the interest of the inhabitants of the department and our canton.”
Anne Ius also says she is “delighted with this court decision. It’s good news, especially at the start of the year. I don’t want to argue about my opponents. Like Jean-Luc Deprince, what matters to me is is the future of the Tarn-et-Garonnais and to work for the inhabitants of the canton of Beaumont who have placed their trust in us.ADT 82, the departmental agency for tourism development, but also within the education and sport commission and of the agricultural committee.
This decision therefore confirms the political balance in the departmental council, Jean-Luc Deprince and Anne Ius being part of the left-wing majority (PRG, PS and allies) chaired by the radical Michel Weill since July 1, 2021.
We have asked the Tonin/Cornille and Salomon/Dupont teams for their reactions, but for the time being, they have not responded.
