The first part of the high-speed lines is to be put into operation in 2030. In 2027, the construction of sections in Central Bohemia and near Brno is scheduled to begin. In 2029, the construction of the line through the Vysočina region is planned to begin. “In the Prague-Brno section, a variant was chosen that connects the Czech and Moravian metropolises through the northern corridor around Kutné Hory and Světlá nad Sázavou. In the Vysočina Region, this is a route that is located closer to Jihlava, “said František Jemelka, a spokesman for the Ministry of Transport.
The map will show high-speed lines in the Czech Republic.A new Pávov terminal will be built near Jihlava, as well as the possibility of connecting to a conventional network. In Brno, the selected variant envisages connection to the Vídeňská terminal with subsequent entry into the Brno railway junction in the Řeka position, ie in a new location. “In the direction from Brno to the south, a new line will be created, running from the current to the west, near Rakvice it will be connected to the current route,” Jemelka explained.

From Brno to Ostrava
In the case of the high-speed line from Brno to Ostrava, a project was selected, which includes the design of a new line in the section Brodek u Přerova – Prosenice – Ostrava-Svinov as well as bilateral exits to the station Hranice na Moravě.
The estimated costs are eighty-three billion crowns. “The route will shorten the travel time between Prague, Brno, Olomouc and Ostrava. Together with the modernized Brno-Přerov line, it is supposed to form a very high-quality connection between Brno and Ostrava, “Jemelka mentioned. The driving time between the two cities should be within an hour.
Disputes over Brno’s new zoning plan: The objections were often unfulfilled, officials said
