Running event for the “Herzkinder Österreich”
Due to Corona, the Herzkinderlauf in Traun could not take place last year either. Donations are collected once a year at this run for the association “Herzkinder Österreich”, which supports children and their parents who are born with a heart defect.
The running platform “Helden des Laufsports”, run by Mario Friedl from St. Martin, and the two Schärdinger charities Günter Dieplinger and Thomas Schererbauer decided in December to organize two runs. Friedl offered the participants a virtual run.
The Schärdinger duo, on the other hand, ran a number of laps on a 700 meter circuit on New Year’s Eve at the TechnoZ Schärding dressed as a clown and bear, and many other runners joined them.
Martin Hinteregger Halbmit
A jersey worn by the Austrian Eintracht Frankfurt legionnaire Martin Hinteregger, which was provided by Eitzinger Michael Angerschmid, assistant coach of the German Bundesliga club, fetched 450 euros on the online auction platform eBay. In total, 2052 euros came together. “Thank you very much for this great commitment,” says Michaela Altendorfer, chairwoman of “Herzkinder Österreich”.
“My family and I are doing well, but you never know what life has in store for you, so we always try to help other people who have been hit hard by fate,” says Mario Friedl.
