Hanover. The police Hanover has on Saturday, among other things, because of a rally AfD had their hands full.
As the demonstration of the AfD started moving, the police had to Hanover intervene fairly sparingly.

The AfD had under the motto “End inflation and compulsory vaccination! Freedom and relief instead of expropriation and coercion” to a demonstration on the Opernplatz.
Around 135 people followed the call by the right-wing populist party, according to the Hanover police.
This is the AfD:
- The Alternative for Germany was founded in 2013 as a EU-skeptical and right-wing liberal party.
- Since the refugee crisis of 2015, the party has ideologically shifted ever further to the right.
- In 2017, the AfD managed to get into the Bundestag.
- The Chairs are Jörg Meuthen and Tino Chrupalla, the Deputy Chairs are Alice Weidel
Shortly before 1 p.m., the demonstrators set off – their destination: the square of the Göttinger Sieben. But the AfD sympathizers should not get that far.

Because counter-demonstrators stand in the way of the elevator at the corner of Ständehausstrasse and Karmarschstrasse. Or waste: you sit down.
According to their own statements, the Hanover police had to remove the sit-in blockade of 35 AfD opponents “with slight coercion” from the street and recorded all personal details.

Then the elevator was able to make its way to the Platz der Göttinger Sieben and back to the Opernplatz as planned – “accompanied by various verbal provocations”, according to the Hanover police.
In addition to the sit-in, there were various other protesters who stood in the way of the AfD. Around 100 AfD opponents gathered at Opernplatz.
In addition, around 280 people followed the call of the Verdi youth, who demonstrated on Hannah-Arendt-Platz under the motto “Solidarity instead of conspiracy stories”.
