At the Rifredi Theater, appointments for pupils and teachers
“These are difficult times for society in safety and for schools in particular, but it is for this reason that activities in the presence (and in safety) take on even more value today; not only didactic, to support a learning path, but also psychological, to keep sociality and communication alive through a physical medium such as theater “. Giancarlo Mordini, artistic director of the Rifredi Theater, comments on the decision to promote, from February to April 2022, 17 matinees dedicated to schools despite the possibility of a lower turnout of students due to the health emergency.
Always attentive to children and teachers, under the guidance of Pupi and Fresedde the direction of the theater has involved, since 1994, about 286,180 students in purpose built activities. “We are well aware of the difficulties of the moment, both of the school and ours – continues Mordini – but we made a choice anyway: not to interrupt a relationship and continue to offer our smaller shows. On the contrary, we make ourselves available, should there be interest in our proposals and the contemporary difficulty of the school, to consider the possibility of carrying out replicas in extra-school hours “.
Within the educational offer, coordinated by Angelo Savelli, four productions by Teatro di Rifredi, including two lectures-shows and two shows. “One, no one, one hundred thousand … Pirandello”, created with the advice to the text of Prof. Paolo Puppa, which traces the life and works of the great author through the two cornerstones of his poetics: humor and hypocrisy; “East of Goldoni”, a cross-section of the historical, social and artistic panorama of the time of which the playwright, with his theater, was perhaps the most subtle interpreter, with the advice of Prof. Siro Ferrone on the text; “Mathematics in the kitchen”, taken from the book of the same name by the mathematician Prof. Enrico Giusti, a culinary mathematical cabaret in which numbers have fun appearing where we least expect them; “Aeneid The Mediterranean route”, an original rewriting of Virgil’s poem that starts from Aeneas’ journey to tell the migrations of all times.
The Rifredi Theater project has a value for youth employment, a real training ground for talented young actors, including: Lidia Castella, Lorenzo Carcasci, Mauro D’Amico, Olmo De Martino, Fabio Magnani, Samuele Picchi, Vieri Raddi and Lorenzo Terenzi. To these are added professionals with longer experience such as Andrea Bruno Savelli, speaker of the show and Luisa Cattaneo, who plays 9 roles in “Aeneid The Mediterranean Conference Route”.
The activity of the Pupi e Fresedde Production Center – Rifredi Theater is carried out with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, the Tuscany Region and the Municipality of Florence, with the support of the CR Firenze Foundation and Unicoop Firenze and with the collaboration of Libreria Florida and Hotel Raffaello.
