An influential ODS member blackmails Praguers. He wants to build near Džbán, otherwise he will close the swimming pool to the public

Over time, we all deal with the unfortunate lands around Pitcher again and what will happen to them. But it is also important why they were auctioned in 2012 at all. Why did Prague repeatedly show no interest in them during the ODS government? She had several options over the course of more than 10 years.
The land was then owned by the state enterprise Prague Sewerage and Watercourses, the founder of which was the Capital City of Prague. Thus, the City Council decided to liquidate the company in 1997. From today’s point of view, it is quite paradoxical that the main goal of the liquidation was to ensure the transfer of real estate to the capital. As we can see, the goal has not been met very well.
According to the liquidator in his final report, already in 2002 there was a very real opportunity for Prague to acquire some land in the vicinity of Džbán free of charge. Both the city district and the municipality were informed well in advance that they were preparing for the auction. Despite the liquidator’s calls, the Prague leadership from the ODS did not use the opportunity. Why, we don’t know. In addition, the then mayor of Prague 6, Marie Kousalíková (ODS), claimed at the time that she had not been informed of the auction.
The liquidation continued in 2012, with the auction of incriminated lands near Džbán approaching. The then management of Prague, led by Mayor Svoboda of the ODS, again incomprehensibly ignored information from the liquidator, who repeatedly led more than six months in advance that the land would be auctioned at the end of the year. It is interesting that the then chairman of the key municipal committee for the territorial development of Prague was Vladimír Schmalz, as if from the ODS.
This is the same Vladimír Schmalz, who is one of the ultimate owners of Molepo, which bought the land at auction. Chance? By the way, it is also the same Schmalz, in whose office at the municipality a mysterious meeting took place on the change of the zoning plan in Prague 9 for a bribe of 50 million crowns. Chance?
“The whole strange story of Pitcher beautifully shows what the Pirates have been fighting for a long time. Hidden privatization of public property into the hands of local politicians. Promoting the interests of a private company in making a profit at the cost of a reckless approach to the public interest. For us, these are completely unacceptable things that have nothing to do in politics. “ says Ondřej Vykoukal for Pirates Prague 6.
In addition, Schmalz wants to run for the Prague City Hall in the autumn, so the success of his party can decide what it will look like in Džbán in a few years and whether he will eventually succeed in gaining ground.
