LEVC came to Greece
Further increasing the green footprint of the company, Greece becomes the most recent country that welcomes in its streets electric taxi TX and van VN5 of London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC).
As a cornerstone of every modern city’s sustainable transport system, the TX is based on the original London taxi and has been completely redesigned for more and more practicality. The TX Taxi is built with the VN5 in a state-of-the-art factory in Coventry, UK, features LEVC’s renowned eCity technology and can accommodate up to six passengers, and can be equipped with a variety of functions for disabled passengers.
VN5 is a professional system with zero emission requirements and is aimed at key industries throughout Greece to perform tasks in a more sustainable way than ever before. With its fully customizable and future-sustainable platform, the VN5 offers significant fuel savings over conventional vans, enabling companies and fleet management companies to achieve their goals in both practicality and sustainability.
The company Spanos SA, based in Athens, was selected as the official and exclusive importer of the brand for Greece. With the ever-increasing demand for sustainable solutions in the sectors of public transport and commercial vehicles, the network that has been present for many decades throughout the country of Spanos SA. has already started taking orders for LEVC models. Multinational companies, micro-enterprises and companies from various business sectors have already chosen VN5 and TX for their fleets. The first deliveries for customers are scheduled for January 2022.
LEVC’s electric taxi TX offers an unbeatable solution to green public transport within Greek cities. With eCity technology, the TX has pure electric autonomy with zero emissions of 103 km (64 miles) – ideal for fresh air zones in the city center. The TX offers the best of both worlds, when combined with the unique range extension technology and achieves full range of 512 km * (318 miles), completely eliminating the stress of autonomy on longer distances.
The VN5 is designed to be as strong and lightweight as the TX taxi, with a self-supporting (monocoque) aluminum body and reinforced synthetic materials (SMC) – a first in the one-tonne van category that lasts twice as long as the competition. With a load capacity of up to 5.5 m3, the VN5 easily accommodates two Euro-sized pallets and offers a gross payload of up to 830 kg. It has a large side loading door (which allows the side loading of a pallet) and a rear door that opens in a 60/40 ratio, to facilitate the driver during unloading. The purely electric autonomy within the city of 96.5 km (63 miles) and the total extended range of 513 km (318 miles) further enhance the flexibility to serve all types of routes.
