On Wednesday 19 January there will be demonstrations in Aalten, Harderwijk, Nijmegen, Nunspeet, Scherpenzeel and Wijchen. Protests have also been announced for January 26 in Ede and Winterswijk. The 28th is still being demonstrated in Renkum.
The action group also expresses its intention to protest in Nijmegen and Wijchen. The demonstration usually starts around 7pm. According to the Netherlands in Resistance, it is not excluded that more demonstrations will follow in other places.
Municipalities are responsible
It is not yet clear whether permits have been applied for for the demonstrations. A spokesperson for the Gelderland-South Safety Region indicates that the municipalities are responsible for enforcement. “Enforcement and police work are part of the municipality,” the spokesperson explains. “Only if the security risks can become significant if we take action.”
