after three weeks of absence, Dupont back to training
Antoine Dupont trained on Monday with the rest of the Stade Toulousain squad. Absent for three weeks due to an injury, the scrum-half returns before a Champions Cup match and the list of the XV of France for the start of the Six Nations Tournament.
International scrum half Antoine Dupont returned to training at Stade Toulousain on Monday. After three weeks of absence to treat his right knee, he was with his teammates for a moderate collective training during which he engaged normally.
On Tuesday, coach Fabien Galthié will announce the list of 42 players to prepare for the first match against Italy (February 6). Antoine Dupont must be part of this list for the start of the 2022 VI Nations Tournament.
Toulouse beaten twice without Dupont
Aligned during the first day of Champions and the victory in Cardiff (7-39), Antoine Dupont has not played a single minute since this success against the Welsh team. In the absence of his scrum half, Toulouse conceded two defeats. The first in Top 14 against Clermont (16-13) during a shock of the championship of France. And the second, last Saturday, against Wasps in the Champions Cup (30-22). The return to training of the best player of the year 2021 is therefore excellent news for the staff of the Pink City club.
Next Saturday, the team coached by Ugo Mola will meet Cardiff on the fourth day of the European Cup at Ernest Vallon. In the event of a victory at home against the Welsh, the defending champion will win his ticket to the knockout stages of the Champions Cup.
