A historic moment for Greek handball and the men’s national team, defeating Turkey away from home with 28-20, achieving six victories in an equal number of games in the qualifying group of the 2023 world championship.

The internationals with absolute calm and seriousness managed perfectly the absences of Papadionysiou and the captain Haris Mallios (he was in the 16th team, but he only executed the penalties) and with an excellent defensive function he trapped the Turks.

With a central duo in their defense Karabournioti-Kandila, Bukovinas under the beams to start the match with super interventions and Passias to find solutions aggressively, the National team led quickly with 6-2 (6 ‘). Giorgos Zaravinas’s team maintained the +4 (8-4) with Bosco in 20 ‘, while they went to the locker room with a 14-11 advantage with the goal of Arambatzis.
