Ivan Ivanov: I expect next week – Bulgaria with the budget to be carried – Politics Offensive o Ognyanov
High natural gas prices have put greenhouse producers to the test. Is it possible to be left without Bulgarian vegetables and how will the farmers be compensated?
Farmers will be compensated by several mechanisms – de minimis payment and notified budget support. We have made estimates for the greenhouse and vegetable production, we are now in negotiations with the Ministry of Finance, the exact amount will be clear later. “I expect the budget to be submitted for discussion in the National Assembly next week. The payments are not up-to-date,” Ivan Ivanov, the agriculture minister, told Offensive.
He stressed that vegetable production suffers the most serious losses from high gas and electricity prices, especially greenhouse producers. 900 hectares are occupied by greenhouse plantations in our country, 300 of them are heated, 200 hectares of them are on gas. Much of it will not be able to produce, and there you will find many people, you may come to the choice of labor.
“I will insist on 9% VAT on the goods from the small consumer basket, this is part of our program, but the decision will be made in a coalition format. The final word is with the National Assembly,” said the socialist.
Minister Ivanov also said that many meetings are being held with the branches and with chain stores, with the aim of increasing the volume of Bulgarian goods in chains.
“The main thing is to have Bulgarian vegetables and fruits on the market. We are a partner of producers and processors,” is the category.
Regarding what was found in the Ministry of Agriculture, Ivan Ivanov informed that violations were found in half of the systems, management was released for lack of funds, lack of reaction in management, non-fulfillment of contracts for repair and restoration of dikes.
The Minister also informed that at this stage there is no critical dam, but no new management will make an objective analysis, as it is not possible to rely on the existing data.
“It is very likely that the amount of wood will be banned for third countries. By the end of January, we aim to saturate the market with firewood for household consumption and return the price to the levels of the year. By mid-February, we call for the price of firewood to be normal, “Ivanov said.
