Municipalities – Hanover – County Council calls for more helpers for health authorities – politics
Hanover (dpa / lni) – The Lower Saxony district council has called for more helpers for the health authorities from the state in the corona pandemic. The health authorities in the districts and urban districts are at their limit, said Hubert Meyer, managing director of the district assembly, the political journal “Rundblick” https://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/. “The support of our authorities by forces of the state still remains very weak, it could be much stronger, “he emphasized. Better would be the help of forces of the Bundeswehr.
According to the county council, the health authorities of the counties and urban districts at the beginning of the week send 380 requests for support workers to the country, as the “Rundblick” reported. But only 120 had been divided up. The Bundeswehr had deployed 300 to 400 workers at the same time. According to Meyers, there are also problems with the regional distribution: In the state capital Hanover there are many state employees, but they cannot die in the more remote health departments.
“The country would have to mobilize even more employees for this and that would also have to be regulated faster and longer tasks,” said Meyer. With difficulty, it was possible to extend the administrative assistance, which was initially limited to the end of the year, to the end of March – “but I suspect we will not have defeated the pandemic by the end of March,” he said.
