Forty municipalities in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais regions recognized as being in a state of natural disaster
Several decrees published in the Official Journal this Friday, January 14, 2022 about forty municipalities in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais regions in a state of natural disaster:
- Bouchain, Fenain, Marchiennes, Socx, Wattignies, Drouvrin-le-Marais, Gonnehem, Isbergues and Mazinghem for differential ground movements following drought and soil rehydration from April 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020.
- Maisnil, Campagne-lès-Wardrecques, La Couture, Delettes, Heuringhem, Racquinghem and Witternesse for differential ground movements following drought and soil rehydration from April 1, 2020 to September 30, 2020.
- Montreal, for landslides (excluding geotechnical drought) of February 1, 2021.
- River, for landslides (excluding geotechnical drought) of February 21, 2021.
- Condé on the Scheldt for floods and mudslides of July 4, 2021.
- Bambecque, Blaringhem, Buysscheur, Esquelbecq, Noordpeene, Renescure, Wormhout, Wylder, Aire-sur-la-Lys, Arques, Clairmarais, Ecques, Heuringhem, Labeuvrière, Quiestède, Racquinghem, Robecq, Roquetoire, Saint-Michel-sur-Ternoise, Wardrecques and Wittes for floods and mudslides from November 27, 2021 to November 29, 2021.
The people affected have a period of ten days from this Friday, January 14 to contact their insurance company in order to benefit from the compensation scheme. On the other hand, the Nord prefecture indicates that the following municipalities are not recognized in a state of natural disaster:
- Cappelle la Grande for differential ground movements following drought and soil rehydration from February 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.
- Bergues, Nieppe, Guarbecque and Saint-Floris for differential ground movements following drought and soil rehydration from April 1, 2020 to September 30, 2020.
- Lestrem for differential ground movements following drought and soil rehydration from October 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.
- Heuringhem for floods and mudslides from November 3, 2021 to November 4, 2021.
The mayors of the municipalities concerned have until March 14, 2022 to challenge the refusal to recognize a natural disaster before the competent administrative court.
