ALL ANTWERP: “Through ‘Gazet van Antwerpen’ I ended up in Antwerp” (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Karin Bosman (44).
“I ended up in Antwerp I was allowed to do an internship at Gazette of Antwerp. I am a graphic designer and now work at Roularta Media, for, among other things, Flair and Dragonfly. The zeitgeist in Utrecht and I really wanted to do an internship abroad. Bee Gazette of Antwerp could. I really liked it here. When I finished my degree, I was able to spend an extra year abroad at the expense of the Dutch state. I then thought: I’ll try Sint-Lucas art school. I took entrance exam and started. That’s a sign, I thought. I came to Antwerp with the idea that I would stay for a year but I never left. And that’s all because of the Gazet. I did an internship there for four months, as a lay-out for the city editorial staff. I still recognize some of your colleagues when I hear their names.”
“The editorial staff of Roularta is located in Evere, near Brussels. By train it is almost an hour and a half. single. That’s really up to you. Thanks to corona I can work from home. I hope it stays that way. Going down to Evere once a week, that’s just the way I see it. But no more. I am more productive at home and can, like now, grab a lunch break, go outside, get a coffee and enjoy the sun for a while. That is the good side of corona.” evw
