Taubira is preparing to formalize his candidacy for Lyon this Saturday
His entourage evokes the choice of the Croix-Rousse district, in Lyon, “to pay tribute to the canuts, a nod to working France”.
Already in the popular primary, which she announced she wanted to “accept the verdict”, Christiane Taubira will clarify her intentions. The former Minister of Justice is organizing to formalize his candidacy for the presidential election from Lyon this Saturday morning, his entourage told BFMTV.
“She will present her project, express her vision,” one explains. “She chose Lyon and the Croix-Rousse district to pay tribute to the canuts, a nod to working France.”
“As she has already said, she will go through the popular primary”, continues those around her. “If she loses this primary, she will retire.”
“Christiane Taubira creates the match”
Yannick Jadot and Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who turned their backs on this primary, will still be voted on. Just like Anne Hidalgo, who defended it for a time, before moving away from it, for lack of having rallied her rivals. Their supporters are therefore encouraged to register, as a close friend of the mayor of Paris summed up at BFMTV: “We mobilize our activists to register for the popular primary and vote AHidalgo. But Mélenchon also does that, he infiltrates!”
“Christiane Taubira creates the match when she says, 15 days before the closing of the registration to vote, that she intends to participate in the popular primary”, reacts a relative of the former Minister of Justice. “She knows that activists from all parties will register, she urges them to support the candidate of their choice.”
This citizens’ initiative is piloting a “nomination”, namely a popular vote of its more than 300,000 signatories from January 27 to 30 to nominate their election candidate.
