In Russia, there are currently signs of a worsening coronavirus epidemiological situation. This was told by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, RIA News on Tuesday, January 11th.
“We are observing visible signs of the epidemic situation, and they consist in the fact that in 35 regions the indicator [заболеваемости ковидом] “An alternative to the average Russian,” said Popova, speaking at a meeting of the Coordination Council for the fight against coronavirus infection under the Russian government.
According to her, in the country there are high risks of an increased surge in incidence, which are covered, among other things, with an increase in the spread of the omicron strain.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that work is already underway in the country to prepare the health care system for the spread of the omicron strain. According to Russian experts, experts are studying the situation with its spread in other countries, as well as the foreign experience of colleagues in combating it.
Prior to the deputy director of the Gamaleya Center, Denis Logunov said that in the second half of January Russia will see a sharp increase in the incidence of the omicron strain of the disease.
