Rimini, opera returns to the Tiberio cinema with “Lucia di Lammermoor” from Vienna
At the Tiberio cinema in Rimini the great opera is on stage with the first appointment of the year: Wednesday 12 January 2022 at 8 pm (full tickets € 12, reduced € 11, Tiberio Club € 10) is scheduled Lucia of Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti, recorded by the Vienna State Opera House, directed by Laurent Perry, with the orchestral direction entrusted to Eveline Pidò and George Petean, Olga Peretyatko, Juan Diego Flórez, Jongmin Park and Lukhanyo Moyake in the main ones.
Donizetti composes Lucia di Lammermoor in the record time of a few weeks. However, with this work he created one of the most important and popular masterpieces of Italian romantic opera. Lucia di Lammermoor flourishes not only for its melodic richness and for its concisely drawn characters through music; Donizetti skillfully softened the rigid prescribed structures of bel canto opera and placed its protagonists Lucia-Edgardo-Enrico in the emotional triangle of love, hate and passion. The opera was part of the main repertoire of the Wiener Staatsoper until 1926 and then again since 1978, offering generations of singers the opportunity to test themselves in the supreme art of bel canto. In Laurent Pelly’s dream staging, a first-rate vocal cast shines at the Wiener Staatsoper. When the phenomenal Olga Peretyatko shows Lucia’s thrilling fall, “music and theater come together in an explosive mixture” (Wiener Zeitung). Juan Diego Flórez, the superstar of bel canto, is “probably the best Edgardo in the world” (Kronenzeitung). George Petean joins them as Enrico in the emotional triangle of love, hate and passion. With Evelino Pidò in the stands, the orchestra of the Wiener Staatsoper excels under this “ideal master of bel canto music” (Die Presse)
Access to the hall is allowed only after showing the super green pass, wearing a ffp2 mask (mandatory). Numbered seats.
