Made in Debrecen – buzzing until midnight
It is no exaggeration to say that March 26, 2022 promises to be a special day in the history of light music life in Debrecen, but also in terms of the city’s identity. This is when the first Made in Debrecen Festival kicks off in half a day, along with the accompanying program, which set the ambitious goal for all the city’s musical formations to perform in record time.
Pécs pattern
The initiative comes from Pécs. For the seventh time this year, the one-day festival was held in Baranya, where nearly 150 local bands performed. One of the invited cities of Made in Pécs was Debrecen. Our county seat was represented by The Crams, KORI, Gidnim’Rém and The Magic Track. In the field of music between the two cities, the residential-friendly relationship is now becoming more serious, as the brand is also coming to life in Debrecen.
Seven locations
The coronavirus epidemic also caused a break in the lives of local bands. One of the main problems was that the scope for action was limited. The Made in Debrecen style, experience, age and gender will now accommodate all staged productions – with professional technique and professionals. The registration option on the website www.madeindebrecenfesztival.hu is open to all light, folk and classical music formations that claim to be Debrecen and have a specific connection to the city. The event will begin on March 26 at 4pm at seven different downtown venues, including the Youth House, Wreck Bar, Incognito, Old Chicks or Desz24.
Due to the expected dense program, all bands will be given 20 minutes of playing time, and the audience will be able to adjust between venues with the help of a detailed program booklet. The midnight at the Great Water Tower will end where the city’s electronic music layer will frame the sun.
