Budapest – Temperatures will be around freezing during the day and will be colder than minus 10 degrees Celsius in some places, according to the National Meteorological Service’s national medium-term forecast.
On Monday, light mixed rainfall may occur in the western parts, especially in the first half of the day. In the northern and north-eastern counties, fewer clouds and several hours of sunshine can be expected, and during the day the clouds will also fall in the north-west. In the southern part of the country, however, the sky will be mostly cloudy or overcast. It is gaining ground in a larger area, especially in Western Transdanubia and in Bodrogköz.
In some places in the east, the snow can carry snow. They can measure values between minus 8 and 0 degrees during the coldest hours, but below minus 10 degrees in the smallest cloudy, snow-covered landscapes.
In the afternoon the temperature is typically between 1 and 5 degrees, but it can be warmer in the north and northeast.
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the sun usually shines for several hours. No precipitation is likely. There may be lively winds in many places, with strong gusts in Western Transdanubia and the East. At dawn on Tuesday, the temperature is typically minus 7 and minus 1 degree, but it can be colder than minus 10 degrees in snowy or wind-protected areas. Values between minus 1 and plus 4 degrees are expected in the early afternoon.
On Wednesdays, the minimum temperature is usually between minus 9 and minus 4 degrees, but in snowy and windless places it can be as low as 10 degrees. The maximum temperature can be between minus 2 and plus 2 degrees.
