There was no change in price. For onions, cleaned and sorted in the box, at the beginning of the week, depending on quality and size, usually 16 to 20 euros / 100kg were quoted. Less is paid for goods of lower quality.
Carrots: a quiet start to the year
The Lower Austrian carrot market started the new year hardly changed. Domestic demand has calmed down again after a consistently satisfactory Christmas business. Exports will continue to be manageable. There was no change in price. At the beginning of the week, carrots in a 5kg sack, from the ramp, usually 45 to 50 euros / 100kg per quality were paid for. In view of the sharply rising production costs, however, demands on the part of the sellers for corresponding price adjustments are becoming louder.
