Here, thousands have been exempted from corona passports – but more are worried about cheating – Dagsavisen
Since Denmark has reintroduced requirements for corona passports in November, at least 5,900 people have been exempted from corona passports. It shows a survey the fact check program Detector has done among the country’s municipalities. Also Extra Bladet has discussed the matter.
The free passport itself is a physical document that can be used in the same way as a corona passport, for example to go to a restaurant or job. With that, one needs to be vaccinated or have recently tested negative for covid-19.
Well, the employers’ association Dansk Industri (DI) and Kommunernes Landsforening (KL), similar to Norwegian KS, believe that it has become too easy to get an exemption for korona passports, and say that the amount that has been granted a free pass raises concerns about abuse in municipalities and private workplaces.
KL believes there are gaps in the legislation, and asks the government to come on the field to tighten.

Must sign self-declaration
The National Board of Health has a long list of which diseases or disorders give a person the right to be exempted from corona passports. Both physical and mental disorders are on the list, including a number of cancers and anxiety. Target group are people who for various reasons should not have a test completed, and with that both test and corona pass are excluded.
You do not need a doctor’s certificate to get a free pass, but you must show up at the public office. There you have to sign a declaration of faith and law, ie a statement in which you promise that you have given correct information, that for medical, physical or mental reasons you can not take coronate test. You must not write what is the reason for asking for a free pass when you sign the self-declaration.
It is not possible to document how many of the more than 5,900 may have received a free pass without there actually being a basis for it, according to Detektor. Nevertheless, Søren Dupont Dall in Dansk Industri says that they have received between 50 and 100 inquiries from frustrated companies due to free passes. DI and KL will be required to have a doctor’s certificate in order to be exempted from corona passports.

– Do not understand
One who shows up and tells that she has been given a free pass without any physical or mental reason for it, is Vibeke. She believes test requirements are “insane”.
– I can not understand why I should let them stuff something in my nose time and time again, just so that I will be allowed to live a fairly ordinary life, Vibeke says.
She just shows up with first name because it may be she has done something that breaks the law. Vibeke says that she has not had any problems using the free pass, and says that she has been to “a sea of” both cafes, restaurants and cinemas.
– I have lived mine as I usually do, says Vibeke.
At the same time, Denmark, like a number of other countries, has had a huge increase in the number of corona cases in recent times. In recent days, the country has been at the peak of infection in Europe, with 3647 infected per 100,000 inhabitants.
On 3 January, more than 700 corona patients were hospitalized in Denmark, the highest amount in a year. However, Tyra Grove Krause, director of the Statens Serum Institut (SSI), believes that Danes can live as normal again within two months.
– I think. It will continue for the next few months, and then when I start to slow down and we get our normal lives back, she says to Danish TV 2.
Almost 79 percent of Danes are fully vaccinated, shows figures from SSI.

In dialogue
In November, the Danish government and Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced that they would introduce requirements for corona passes, for example at indoor restaurants, nightclubs and contexts where people gather closely. To get a corona pass, one must either have been vaccinated, have recently had covid-19 or be able to show a negative test taken a short time in advance.
The government and all the parties in the Folketing, with the exception of the smaller party Nye Borgerlige, which together back agreements, which ensure that someone can apply for exemptions from tests and corona passports. Nye Borgerlige was also one of the parties that at the end of November voted against a law that allows employers to require a valid vaccine certificate at work.
As long as covid-19 has been declared a socially critical illness, the employer can demand to see an employee’s corona passport.
Detector has been in contact with the various parties for answers to the criticism from KL and DI. Neither the Unity List nor the Socialist People’s Party (SF) will make further demands, while Per Larsen in the Conservatives says that it must be possible for a company to require documentation from games in addition to the corona passport.
The ruling Social Democratic Party has not commented on the matter. The Danish Ministry of Health writes in an e-mail that they are in dialogue with, among others, KL about the scheme for assessing possibilities for adjusting models.
