The deputy of the 3rd district of Pas-de-Calais José Evrard (Debout la France) died at the age of 76 after contracting the Covid-19. The deputy already had symptoms during the traditional Christmas meal with his parliamentary attaché who is also infected. The deputy’s state of health had deteriorated in recent hours. Atypical character, José Evrard was head of the Debout la France list, the party of Nicolas Dupont-Aignan during the regional elections of 2021 (2.05%), he was elected deputy in 2017 under the Front National label before slamming the party door to join the Patriotes of Florian Philippot a few months later. José Evrard, originally from Cauchy-à-la-tour, had campaigned for a long time in the Communist Party until 2001, he had also occupied the functions of departmental secretary.
