ALL ANTWERP. “I haven’t been outside for a long time, but I’m trying to pick up the thread again” (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Liliane Keteleers (69).
“I’m on my way to cafe De Volksvriend. I live a bit further from here, but I only got there last summer. There was a large terrace. And that appealed to me. I really don’t dare to go in somewhere alone like that.”
“I haven’t been outside for a long time. My husband passed away seven years ago and it’s only recently that I’m trying to pick up the thread again. I don’t really have any friends anymore. My sister-in-law was my best friend, but she and my brother were run over on Bisschoppenhoflaan a few years ago. And shortly after that they also died.”
“I’ve been depressed a lot, but going to a cafe will help me recover. Otherwise I’ll just sit at home alone. Corona doesn’t stop that. I don’t really have any hobbies, but I brush a lot to clear my mind. But by coming here every now and then to drink a glass of white wine, I get back among the people.”
“I am also going back to the market. I haven’t done that in a long time either. But slowly, better by fluently, it goes. I walk a lot and try new things.”
