“Very high risk”. All Portugal painted in dark red on the EU travel map
Portugal is at ‘very high risk’ on European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) maps on travel decisions in the European Union (EU), where the entire country is painted in dark red.
At issue are the ECDC maps of combined indicators, covering the rates of notifications of covid-19 cases in the last 14 days, the number of tests performed and the total positives, which are weekly, every Thursday.

Dark red refers to territories with a cumulative case report rate of infection in the last 14 days above 500 cases per 100,000 population and a test positivity rate of 4% or more.
This week there is an aggravation compared to the previous one, as the Azores archipelago was painted in red last week (high risk), and now it follows the rest of the country in dark red.
The red refers to territories with a cumulative rate of notification of cases of infection in the last 14 days, which varies from 75 to 200 per 100,000 inhabitants or is greater than 200 and less than 500 per 100,000 inhabitants. The testicular positivity rate is 4% or more.
These maps from the European agency follow a system of traffic lights on the propagation of covid-19 in the EU, starting with green (favorable situation), passing through orange, red and dark red (the most dangerous situation, in which Portugal has already been in last year). and is now).
The maps serve as an aid to Member States on the restrictions to apply to space travel. In June, the EU Council adopts a recommendation for a coordinated approach to travel, proposing that covid-19 vaccinates and recoveries should not be evaluated against restrictive measures such as quarantines or testing.
