Stellantis: production resumes in Vienna
The 2022 of Stellantis opens with good news. In fact, in the past few hours, the automotive group led by the CEO Carlos Tavares said it had restarted production at its facility near Vienna to Aspern which for some time had been stopped due to the crisis due to the lack of semiconductors.
Production resumes at the Stellantid plant in Vienna
Stellantis had to start operations at its headquarters in north-east Vienna with approximately 460 employees due to the global lack of chips from 18 October until the end of 2021. The production disruption was bridged by part-time work for employees, the company said in a statement. In this plant, the automotive group produces transmissions for its cars.
The shutdown of this factory had aroused many in Austria. In fact, it was feared that it was a sort of prelude to the decision to permanently close the production site by the car manufacturer born from the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group. In reality, however, Stellantis had promptly denied everything, confirming that he still wanted to focus on this factory.
It is naturally hoped that in this 2022 that has just begun the Stellantis group manages to normalize the situation in most of its plants after the 2021 just ended was certainly a difficult year from this point of view, as evidenced by the sharp drop in production accused by the company Carlos Tavares in the last quarter of last year.
Also in Germany, the company recently announced the restart of production at the Eisenach plant where it is produced Opel Grandland and which had been closed for several months. We will therefore see in the coming days what other news will arrive in this regard.
