The “lateral thinking” movement will gather for a week in Frankfurt for “walks”. At the weekend, the vaccination opponents are planning a demonstration in the north end.
Frankfurt – The protests from the ranks of the so-called lateral thinking movement against the Corona measures will continue in Frankfurt in the new year. Via the messenger service Telegram, the scene of vaccination skeptics and corona deniers is mobilizing for a “continuous protest week” with daily meeting points every evening at 6.30pm until the coming weekend. As the public order office of the Frankfurter Rundschau confirmed, she would like to meet today on Tuesday at Karl-Perotte-Platz in Heddernheim, on Wednesday in front of the Bockenheimer Depot and on Thursday at the Höchst Schlossplatz. Around 100 participants are expected.
A demonstration is planned for Saturday, January 8th, which is to begin at 3 p.m. with 750 people at Holzhausenpark in Nordend. How many people will actually take part in the protest march announced as a “large-scale protest” can be estimated from the movement, which is primarily networked online.
The Frankfurt police had recently disbanded demonstrations and rallies from the “lateral thinking” scene several times on the Advent weekends because the people gathered did not adhere to mask and distance requirements. Last Saturday around 3 p.m. in the city center around 3 p.m., people gathered in smaller groups to demonstrate at the main guard on the Römerberg, but not registered.
The district administrator of the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, Thorsten Stolz (SPD), appealed to the citizens at the start of the new year to stay away from the events of the “lateral thinkers” movement. What is harmlessly declared as a “stroll” or “chance meeting” is “nothing more than an attempt to circumvent or undermine the right to assemble”. with dpa
