New Year’s Eve in Prague: Some clubs will not open, others will have a party without restrictions
Many Praguers set out to celebrate the end of the year in their favorite nightclub. This year, just like last year’s New Year’s Eve, however, it will not be possible without measures against coronavirus infection. But it has a crack. The Supreme Administrative Court has again allowed people in music clubs and discos to “start it” again on Thursday, so the number of guests related to the number of Jews has been limited, and the condition of a mandatory spacing of 1.5 meters has disappeared. And – where dance entertainment is the main subject of business and it is not primarily an impact event, the condition does not apply to a maximum of 50 guests. We asked in several Prague clubs what New Year’s Eve party they are planning?
The government of Petr Fiala (ODS) had to react to the verdict of the Supreme Administrative Court and now allows people in music clubs and discos to “start it”. On Thursday, the number of guests related to the number of chairs was reduced, and the condition of a mandatory spacing of 1.5 meters also disappeared. And – where dance entertainment is the main subject of business and it is not primarily an impact event, the condition does not apply to a maximum of 50 guests.
Information about the change in measures came unexpectedly. Despite the fact that this is positive news for many owners and managers of discos and nightclubs, some will not open on New Year’s Eve.
It’s closed!
“It’s at the last minute, so we don’t plan anything, “Radek Koch told Bleska for the Holešovice dance club Mecca. “It would not pay off for the club financially, not even in terms of the worries associated with the organization,” he added.
The party will not take place in Karlovy Vary in the center of Prague. “We’ll find out the day before, organizationally, resumption of operations on New Year’s Eve is almost impossible. Employees are on vacation. If the measures are not tightened after January 3, we will definitely open them, “club manager Jana Lipšanská told Blesk. The disco is currently closed, so even the last day of the year will not change.
Only 50 people
For example, in the popular James Dean company in V Kolkovně Street in Prague 1, New Year’s Eve will be. After a telephone conversation with an employee of the company, everything will take place according to government regulations, namely, that the number of 50 guests will be observed. “We will have a limited number, everything will be festively decorated, but the entrances are already sold out,” she said.
Without limits
In Retro Music Hall, on the other hand, users throw themselves off their hooves. “Friends and comrades, although we feel both on the swing and you like it we announce that on December 31, 2021, we will normally open the Retro Music Hall in normal operation. I apologize in advance for the inconvenience caused by the confusion in government restrictions that but we currently offer to open Retro Music Hall in unlimited capacity, “The club states on its website. To enter, however, Retro Music Hall requires a completed vaccination or confirmation of covid (disease, no longer than 180 days).
