Longing for Vienna and great variety
Maybe in extremis and by a whisker, with the fear of new restrictive ministerial provisions, this year the tradition returns to win its race with the pandemic. Highly anticipated this year more than ever, the New Year’s Eve appointment with the Strauss Festival Orchester Wien is back live at the ‘Giovanni da Udine’. The protagonist of a joyful and carefree musical tradition that has no equal in the world, the Viennese orchestra conducted on the violin by Willy Büchler will perform on Friday 31 at 6 pm in a series of dance rhythms, polkas, waltzes and the famous operetta arias that made Central European music famous all over the world between the 19th and 20th centuries. Alongside the historic Austrian ensemble, to which the devoted audience of the Teatrone has long paid all its warm affection, the brilliant Dominican soprano Nathalie PeñaComas and the baritone Andreas Jankowitsch.
