Liechtenstein is preparing for a strong increase in the corona case
The measure is intended to ensure sustainability in times of the Omikron variant, as the government announced on Tuesday.
Critical infrastructures are facilities and systems that are important for the A major social functions. These include in particular blue light organizations, health care, transport and the food supply.
The number of cases in Liechtenstein has decreased by almost a third since mid-December. With a 7-day incidence of 650 per 100,000 inhabitants, they are still at a high level, according to the executive. So far, 35 cases of the Omicron variant have been recorded.
Due to the emergence of the new variant and the meetings over the Christmas holidays, it can be assumed that the incidences will rise sharply again, wrote the government. She continues to ask the population to be cautious about social contacts – including at the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Partly stronger rules than in Switzerland
As in Switzerland, the 2G rule applies to indoor events in Liechtenstein. Only those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered are allowed to take part. This also applies to private events with more than ten people.
At all meetings between people who do not live in the same household, the minimum distance of 1.5 meters should be strictly observed. Face masks should be worn where this is not possible.
Unlike Switzerland, the government in Vaduz recommends that the population wear FFP2 masks. In addition, the mask requirement in public indoor areas already applies to children from 6 years of age and not only from 12 as in Switzerland.
