Poland Doctor Dolittle. “My wild friends”, Małgorzata Zdziechowska
- Małgorzata Zdziechowska still worked with over 100 species of mammals, the main ones with orphaned babies, who replaced their mother
- – Being a substitute for the frequency of work 24 hours a day – says “Polska Doktor Dolittle”
- Where do pets come from to deal? “The stories are often very sad, because someone else has to stay for the mother to take part in the animal, and then take it to the street”
- You can find more such stories on the Onet homepage
You travel all over the world, you take care of various orphans. Bears, monkeys, kangaroos, rhinoceros … Each animal has a body language characteristic of its species. However, in the pictures you stroke them, hug them, put them to sleep, lick them … Does it mean that there is one language in which we understand each other with animals?
Even though I know several foreign languages, I always speak Polish to animals. For me, it is not the language that is most important, but what I feel. One can sense my love, goodness. Besides, I have a sharp end sense. I always try to read what pets give me.
As for hugs, they come to me, “hug”. If we look at animals in nature and see the relationship between a mother and her children, we find that such relationships are the earliest natural thing in the world. For example, bear cubs or great anteaters ride on mums, spider monkeys or howlers are attached to a branch, young or rear.
I think certain behaviors are universal to all mammals.

What does it mean to be a “mom” to an orphaned pet? From your work in My Wild Friends, it appears that he is at work full time. It does not end with feeding and “comparing” your toddler.
Being a surrogate for often operating 24 hours a day. In the book, the description of the little ones, the author was looked after by a few, incl. marsh wallaby or giant kangaroo. In their case, I slept for several hours a day and got up at night to feed them and simulate them to take care of themselves. Babies drank the milk from a bottle 60 times a day.

But in the case of the orphaned rhino, where I recently looked after, it was a round-the-clock job. With the second chochota we were with Dani all the time. Me for 48 hours, then she for two days and me again. Dani was released without her mother as soon as she was detained for several days. Little boy that it was impossible to even play even for a moment. So remember the meals I ate with the rhinoceros. We only changed for supper so that the “mom” on duty could eat, bathe and prepare for the night. We even slept with Dani at the clinic.
How do little ones meet for wild animals?
Puppies come for a variety of reasons. Someone killed their mother for a horn, for example, or because he wanted a monkey, or even a bear in the house. These stories are often very inclined, because someone may bully mom to take a wild animal home, and then throw it out on the street because he got bored with it, the animal was too messy or too helpful. Such little ones, badly repaired, sick and traumatized, will be confronted.
During the pandemic, many Bolivians living in the countryside took wild animals from the forest and kept them at home. Now they do not know what to do with them and give them back en masse.
About 150 new animals were added to the Bolivian application of La Senda Verde only by you. In total, there are about 900 animals in this place.
Your pupils are tiny, like the Bolt wallaby or the river spotted quilt, but also… quite dumb. The Arum spectacled bear weighed 150 kg. After the book was published, you took care of the baby giraffe and the aforementioned Dani. Such “babies” can unintentionally cause harm!
When working with wild animals, you always have to be safe and have a supply that they are wild animals. The little ones are sometimes unaware of their master. Dani, she could have baked in temperature during her volunteer work, stopped where she could stop. At first, when we were asleep, she could kick her head or leg. Since she was sleeping close to me, I had to be very careful. Fortunately, Dani stopped having nightmares after a few days and slept soundly.
Equipped with our medications, it is close to those “first-hand”. What else, apart from information, do you want to pass on to your children?
I would like to give children the opportunity to get to know those who are absent, whose pets there will never be in their life canvassing can see with their eyes. To instill in them love and respect for animals. After all, they are not toys. Realize that wild animals are best in the wild, so that it never comes to breeding breeders or preserving wild animals at home. Make people aware of certain problems – such as environmental damage.
Do you report visits after volunteering? Do you know what happened to your pupils from the book “My Wild Friends”?
Yes. I love knowing what the fate of my pupils is. Swamp wallaby Bolt and Bluey the kangaroo were released into the wild. Rambo the Vulture has also returned to nature.
Whenever I have such an opportunity, I am in business-related services and receive information about my former clients on an ongoing basis.

Below we present an excerpt from the book “My wild friends”:
A rough little baby
Bolt, swamp wallaby, Two-color wallaby, Kangaloola, Australia
The first night, 3.30 … Before the alarm started ringing for good, I switched off quickly to walk, so as not to wake up the wolves. Without turning on the light, I felt in the dark for a tracksuit and sweatshirt, which I put on over my pajamas. The shoes are standing in front of our house. I turned on the flashlight and walked over to the house across from. I lit a totem from the fridge that already milk glasses, if you want me to do it already. I poured hot water into it. When the milk was ready (enough ratio, but not too hot), I went to my little ones – a few-month-old orphans: two kangaroos and a wallaby. The first ones slept sweetly in the bags hung on the rod, while Bolt, as always, messed about in the playpen. I took his bag and the toddler jumped inside.
I lay down on my lap with a bottle of milk delivered to me. I covered his eyes and ears with my left hand (so that I could feel a feast, in the evenings at my mother’s. Bolt loved the food. As soon as he was done, he fell asleep with an angelic smile on his face. It is impossible not to love! This time I took part in the time for a little cream, and that I had to rub myself, I took part. Such little ones in need of a mother who lies, stimulates them to take care of themselves. In this case, I was his “mother”. Bolt defecated as easily as food.
When I came to volunteer, which appears in the Kangaloola range, Bolt – the wallaby – had been there for several weeks. His mother was dead and the little one was saved. He was very lucky, as painfully kangaroos, even for many days, with the corpses of so many independent and fearless wallabies set off almost immediately and are very hard to find. The little one was unable to act. In order to create, we created conditions for him as close as possible to those in which he would live in freedom.
Since until the 10th mum’s bag of life was his home, we prepared a similar house for him. His new version consisted of three versions. We put the toddler in a pillowcase turned inside out (so that the seams would not irritate) a pillowcase, which was tucked into a square fleece pillowcase. We placed such a bundle on the rail in triangular bags hung on horizontal bars. The three smallest tricks can support the activation of functions in the pen, in which it is possible to produce them.
The little ones got their milk repaired times a day and there were lots to do. In nature, their mother would do it, the applicant was my role. Weighing 1.24 kilograms, Bolt was given 23 grams of milk at a time. After feeding in the morning, I prepared bottles with milk for, then it was enough to leave the fridge for a whole day and warm it up.
I loved Bolt from the first meeting. Always have the impression that your toddler is smiling. It had a cute black fur, its mouth would be slightly different to a rat, and he loved to hops and mischief. More than once, it made me cry with laughter. When I came around mom time, I often found myself in the track of one of the orphaned kangaroos: Bolt either put on one of them or “chased” the toddler with the hedgehogs away and their place. I was laughing that he had more baddies, wondering where I would find Bolt today. He was like Sleeping Beauty, who couldn’t get the best of the best dwarfs for her …
Feeding always up-to-date from this toddler who happened to be not asleep, and most often it was Bolt. There were times, however, that he slept sweetly. In stocks, I took out the bundle with it in the supplies and put it on my own. It was enough for me to manage with a bottle of milk, for Bolt to finally break out of the program and the tool to pull out the hiding to the mouth. He generally fell asleep blissfully after feeding. When he was awake below, I let him sit on my lap a bit and look at the world. Sometimes he licked my face.

Almost every day, for a few moments, we took the little ones out to grass to play a game. Bolt was bursting energy. Since she shares her catwalk with later older kangaroos, we had to be even more careful.
It was enough to put Bolt’s bag on the grass for him to jump out of it and start hops down the runway. He jumped back and forth; he was quick at the same time. That is why he got the name after the fastest sprinter in the world Usain Bolt.
His older colleagues did not intimidate him, he even jumped on them: they were supposed to get out of his way! He was the only wallaby so young in the applicant, so he grew up among young giant kangaroos.
We have built a new run for the little ones. There were standing places with workshops. We took them in the morning before the first feeding and left them for the evening run, we would bring them home after the evening meal. They spent the night at home and all days outside. Bolt liked such conditions very much. He immediately started “visiting” the new home: he sniffed and looked at everything. From the first day of a very long time, it can be outside, hops along the entire length of the run to one side, to the same side. Whenever I came there, the little one was already jumping in my direction.
Over time, I also started giving Bolt pieces of apples. The toddler loved them so much that when I ate the apple myself just before his visit, he was nibbling on me in place. It was all the – cute barb …
You can enjoy the disposition, disposition to enjoy the sound, when it got independent, it has been changed to changes.
