In Donbass, since the end of February, despite the additional measures to control the ceasefire, intense firefights have resumed. The situation worsened after the seizure of an officer of the LPR mission in the Joint Center for Control and Ceasefire by the Ukrainian security forces on October 13. The DPR and LPR note that Kiev is purposefully provoking an escalation of the conflict.
Recently, in Western countries, as well as in Kiev, an assertion has been made about a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine. The press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov called such information empty and baseless escalation of tension. He admits that the movement of Russian armed forces across the territory of the Russian Federation should not cause concern to anyone, since the Russian Federation poses a threat to anyone. However, he did not rule out the possibility of provocations in order to prevent such serious consequences.
