In Russia, improvements to victims of road accidents under compulsory motor third party liability insurance may increase to two million rubles, about this informs the newspaper “Vedomosti” citing sources close to the government.
It is noted that the Ministry of Finance has agreed with the relevant departments on changes in the compulsory car insurance system. It is envisaged that the threshold of compensations for damage to life and health will increase, and a ban on accounting and wear and tear of the damaged car will be introduced in their calculation.

Two proposals were agreed at a meeting in the department on December 17, in which representatives of the Bank of Russia, the Russian community of auto insurers, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs participate. The changes have been made to the final version of the bill, which will be prepared in 2022.
Thus, they want to increase the payment limit by four times, from 500 thousand to two million rubles. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance does not deny that the cost of the OSAGO policy will increase, but the verdict was passed for much higher than the estimated costs of car owners.
Earlier, the public organization of small and medium-sized businesses “Opora Rossii” asked to abolish state regulation of prices for technical inspection of cars in order to prevent the closure of a large number of operators. Such a proposal is in a letter to Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Road Safety Commission. The reason for the appeal was the amendments that entered into force on March 1 of this year on new conditions for the accreditation of TO operators.
