The University of Lyon 2 suspends the dean of the faculty of law, accused of sexual abuse

An administrative investigation was opened by the University of Lyon 2 towards Guillaume Protière, dean of the faculty of law. Thursday, December 16, he was suspended from his duties at the conservatory pending the end of the investigation. He is accused of sexual violence by a student, in a testimony published by Rue89Lyon.
Since the start of the 2021 school year, two professors from the University of Lyon 2 have been suspended as part of administrative investigations. Both are accused of sexual violence. Guillaume Protière, dean of the law faculty, was relieved of his duties, as a precaution Thursday, December 16, according to Rue89Lyon. Contacted by Lyon Capitale, the university confirms that “November 2021, the Lumière Lyon 2 University was informed of testimonies which justified the opening of an administrative investigation concerning a professor-researcher of the Faculty of Law Julie-Victoire Daubié”, without specifying the nature of the facts under investigation. “The teacher-researcher concerned has been suspended from all his functions at the university as a precaution as of December 16, 2021”, also confirms the university.
In a survey published on Rue89Lyon, a student, aged 18 at the start of their relationship, accuses him of control and multiple sexual violence, when she had an affair with him. She also testified to the university, still according to Rue89Lyon. The university asks “respect and the conduct of [l’enquête] and people and indicates to have “Put in place the measures necessary to deal with this situation”. The investigation is due to end in mid-January.
On September 11, 2021, a cinema professor, Jacques Gerstenkorn, was also suspended by the University of Lyon 2. An administrative investigation was opened by the university following testimonies from students and former students who accuse the professor of harassment sexual assault and sexual assault.
