The employees of the transport company get added. Despite budget problems
Employees of the Brno transport company can look forward to a higher salary from next year. The three-month meeting of the carrier’s management with professional organizations ended with the signing of a new collective agreement. This will provide employees with a four percent increase in wages.

The contract is valid from January to the end of December 2022. “The result of our negotiations is a compromise between the ideas of the trade unions and the real possibilities of the transport company. An increase in wages for next year by four percent means an increase in costs by sixty million crowns. Given that we did not valorise wages this year, I perceive it as an obligation to find the means to increase them in a tight budget, “said Miloš Havránek, CEO of the Brno Transport Company.
The trade unions are also satisfied with the results of the collective bargaining. The management of the transport company and the city took their suggestions and comments into account. “In addition, we have enforced the right to meal vouchers for all employees according to shifts, ie also for overtime services and for part-time workers,” said Libor Weinstein, chairman of the Transport Trade Union.

From the New Year, the employees of the Transport Company of the City of Brno will also be entitled to a higher contribution for recreation. It will increase from twelve hundred crowns to fifteen hundred.
At the same time, the Brno transport company is facing a high-loss coronavirus pandemic. The drop in fare revenues is already 168 million crowns this year, and the cost of electricity will also increase for carriers. “We have calculated a loss of 430 million for the city next year. We also received forty-five from him, “Havránek calculated in an interview for Deník Rovnost.
Brno Transport Councilor Petr Kratochvíl said last week that they were looking for savings in wages, internal costs and communications. “The goal was to optimize traffic performance in sections and times where the traffic load is not so high that we can reduce passenger comfort,” said Kratochvíl.
