Dog love treatment. See how happy the paramedics of Kyjov Hospital were
Canine therapy dogs regularly go to the Kyjov Hospital for pediatric patients. In the difficult times of the covid, however, it was necessary to lift the mood of the paramedics themselves. Golden Retrievers from Milan Doktor’s kennel visited paramedics from Kyjov Hospital during the spring wave epidemic and have now arrived again. Thanks to Mrs. Hasil for today’s contribution and beautiful photos.

In March of this year, the management of Kyjov Hospital was looking for ways to support tired staff. One of the ideas next to address the chairman of the Canisterapeutic Association of South Moravia, Mr. Milan Doktor. Milan Doktor and his golden retrievers have been visiting the Children’s Department of the Kyjov Hospital for several years, but a new idea, a new collaboration, arose during the Covvid era.
The two spring visits of the teams of the Canisterepeutic Association of South Moravia had a very positive response at the hospital. The dogs came to the paramedics directly to their workplace and brought joy and a smile there. They helped unleash thoughts from the difficult situation the staff was facing. The hairy men didn’t deal with covid, they didn’t examine protective suits or respirators, they didn’t want more than a caress. They hugged, hugged and listened, perceiving the atmosphere and fatigue.
Hooray, there’s Santa! The children and paramedics of the Kyjov Hospital were happy with the visit
Currently, the situation is similar. Kyjov Hospital is one of the busiest in the Czech Republic. The atmosphere is different in something. More fatigue, exhaustion, less optimism. And the hospital heard an invitation again, a request to visit tired paramedics. And the teams set off again. The dog visit began at the vaccination center and then, accompanied by head nurse Renata Masaříková, went through several wards. As he walked between the hospital’s buildings, each of the rats said, “Come to us, too.” It was not really possible to visit all those who wanted it in one visit, because canis therapy dogs love people, but it is necessary to watch their fatigue. Thursday’s visit was certainly not the last. The management of the hospital in cooperation with the Canisterapeutic Association of South Moravia continues to welcome it.
